Experimental Papercut Cards

Last week, while creating some new concertina design greeting cards, I also had a little experiment with some typography and some medal/ribbon shapes. I will have a little play around with them a bit more before releasing them, but they should be in the Mr Yen shop soon!

A badge for your Number 1 Dad....

A sweet heart papercut for the one you love...

...and a medal to give to that person you know who just did something amazing!

{WIP Wednesday}

Last week I was working on an illustration for the Foxtrot Collective and showed a little sneaky peek of it here, below you can see the final finished piece that I contributed. All the cogs and text are hand cut then photographed, with the texture around it being digitally added. I really wanted to experiment with some texture, some digital elements and thought this was the perfect way to experiment! The colour scheme was greyscale and I had to illustrate the word mike within the theme machine. Success or failure, I'm not sure yet, but I had fun experimenting with something different and creating something more digital with papercuts!

{weekend goodness}

This is the first post I have made this week as I have been so busy with University work. I have only two weeks remaining until I finish. For good. Then I will be having an exhibition of my work and looking for a job.

I am so excited to finish University now as I only went back to study to find out what I wanted to do with myself, and now I know, I just want to get out there to do it! I am looking forward to having spare time, weekends off work, sleeping in sometimes, meeting old friends I haven't seen for ages, getting some exercise, going to the cinema, having the chance to go out to eat some good food and generally getting my life back.

{experimental silhouette}

I have been wanting to create something a little more interesting with silhouettes and experimented with my own silhouette and the following design. I have always wondered why people don't really experiment inside the silhouette.

What do you think?

**Dont forget my give away that you can enter here!!!**

There has been something i have wanted to do for a while now, which is create a poster out of cut out letters, using random patterned paper . I have also wanted to do something with a certain quote for a while now too and decided i should put both ideas together and i created this!

It now hangs on my studio wall, all nice and neat in a frame.

...well this is the start of some collage greetings cards that i am creating for my etsy shop. I am in the process of creating a small card like my paper mountains work but in black, Alice in wonderland quote cards, using the cut out letters from my other pieces and a card using the cut out tree from one of my other pieces in my shop. I waste no piece of paper if it can be useful!
