{Monday Morning}

Good Morning! It's a grey dull day here in Leeds and I need to take some photographs, but I guess that will have to wait! How is it where you are? It's starting to feel a lot more like winter now here, with this kind of weather, the adverts on T.V and the dark early nights.

This morning I have been sorting out the studio as there is so much mess everywhere I can't even see the desk! Also I think it is time to get some admin work done this afternoon, as the past few weeks I have been so busy with lots of making and organising that it has been put to one side. I will also be having three extra special blog posts this week about new stockists & some examples of what you could do with my new Xmas tape!

While sorting out my folders of old work I came across the black & white photo in the image above, which is one of the very first black & white photos I took with a professional film camera, (all developed & processed by me too!) and I thought it would like nice in this frame in my living room....I wonder what other little treasures I will come across while making my way through the mountains of old work that is stashed around the apartment!

Hope you have a productive day!

{weekend goodness}

I should be getting on with some work but decided to clean instead. Everywhere needs to be cleaned when I've got work to do...but I did find these while cleaning -

{Monday Morning}

This morning I am organising the next three weeks ahead as I am not in University. Today this means lots of cleaning, washing, going through old work, working on the mrYen website, testing out some new products and doing some University blogging. Hope you have a good productive Monday!

*Don't forget to enter the mrYen competition that ends tonight! details here*

{weekly update}

This weekly update idea is not really working too well as I have only done one post in two weeks....and now its getting into the third week! I am busy with University work so much now that I will keep them short & sweet, with links to things and some nice images too.

Since the last weekly update post:

*I have had to finish all the final edits to my dissertation and then bind it and submit it, which is all done and completed!
*Started a collaboration with illustrator Natuski Otani.
*I have had my work featured on Aqua Velvet {thanks amy!}
*It has been Valentines day and I made this card for my valentine.
*I have finished my Alice in Wonderland Dust Jackets for my book cover project at University, which you can see here and made some papercut bookmarks to accompany them here.
*I have updated my etsy shop with the bookmarks for sale.
*My dust jackets and bookmarks featured in an interview I did with DigitalArts magazine website here.
*And added these photos as favourites on flickr - 1. 2. 3.

Phew! This kind of post might not look like much but it takes a lot of organisation to get all this together. Next time I will make it look good too, but for now here is my favourite illustration by Natsuki.

{update}

Since my last update, it has been my friends birthday, i have actually cleaned my studio, i have listed two new paper cuts in my shop here and here and i have finally made a start on my University projects. Here are a few photos from the past few days... ( you can see more at my flickr account here)

{update}

Today i took some photos of my studio (which is a mess) so i will be inclined to clean it for tomorrows update and i listed a new paper cut quote by the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland. The right image can be clicked to take you to it.

{clean studio}

i have been meaning to sort papers, work, university work, projects and products for a while now and i have finally sorted it all out! I dont know if its just me, but i always think clearer and work better when i have a clean space to work in/think. i have missed having a clean space to work and plan for too long, so today i took the plunge and just started.
music, closed door, no distractions, cup of tea and papers in piles all over the floor. i always find this the easiest way to sort things out. it is always just starting that i hate.....once i have got into the mood of cleaning and organising i dont mind it and actually start enjoying it! Now i have a nice clean area to work i think i will have to update my shop soon, i haven't listed anything new recently and feel the need to create something simple and intricate. saying this, i really should sort out my dissertation research before i do any more work for my shop as i dont want to leave my dissertation research until the end of my holiday, i would like to make sure it is all done and dusted before i go back to university. i will just have to work hard and try and create some sort of balance!
