It's been a while since I last had a weekend goodness update hasn't it?! Well I do work all week on Mr Yen then go to work at Muji on a weekend, so I never get time through the weekend to get a post together - so because of this, I thought it would be a good idea to give you a weekly update in case you missed anything through the week! This weekly update now be a regular thing until I no longer have to work on weekends - which I hope is very soon!

Monday Morning - Back in business!

Inspiration Tuesday - The start of a new series - 21 Things

Feature Friday - Botanical illustrations on ceramic travel cups by Yevgenia

Have a nice weekend!

Monday Morning

Good Morning!

I hope you are all enjoying the bank holiday weekend in the UK! Today I will be having a day of planning a few things for Christmas and putting a few finishing touches to the August Mr Yen newsletter, which will be sent out on Wednesday. As it's a bank holiday, I thought you might like to have a read of last weeks posts if you didn't have time to read them earlier....

I posted about my Flickr Favourites.

A new papercut that I created in a Papel Picado style for an Exhibition piece.

Paper craft and music videos with Petra Storrs & Paloma Faith.

Five From The Ground - great photographs, styling and wire sculptures.

{Monday Morning}

Good Morning!

I hope you are having a nice start to the day. I'm finally getting back into the swing of things, of which it has taken me far too long to do so, but now I'm kind of prepared for a few months ahead and working on some exciting things (which will be revealed later)

I always like Monday mornings as I have a whole week ahead of work I actually enjoy in front of me! January has been quite a quiet month for me so far, which has both good and bad points to it. On the one hand it gives me time to catch up on the more mundane side of things (such as emailing, planning, organising and general tasks) but on the other hand I prefer to be kept busy so I hope this quiet time doesn't last long!

Below you can see the start of a new series of cards I will be bringing out this week too. I will have the whole alphabet available, so you will be able to choose your own initial that will have a floral element added to it. They will be available with red inserts and red envelopes to match...but more details on these will be saved for my {WIP Wednesday} blog post!

This week I'm organising some ltd edition, instant art collections - having a few papercuts & products in one package. There will be an introductory package, a basic package and a deluxe package, and they will all be filled with lovely papercut bits and pieces from last years stock - so it will be the very last opportunity to get certain items. Once they are gone, they're gone for good! I will keep you updated and let you know how they are coming on in my {WIP Wednesday} blog post too!

If you missed anything last week, here's a little round up...

*I started experimenting with a new papercut feather design*

*I posted a photo of my inspiration board for January*

{weekly update}

This weekly update idea is not really working too well as I have only done one post in two weeks....and now its getting into the third week! I am busy with University work so much now that I will keep them short & sweet, with links to things and some nice images too.

Since the last weekly update post:

*I have had to finish all the final edits to my dissertation and then bind it and submit it, which is all done and completed!
*Started a collaboration with illustrator Natuski Otani.
*I have had my work featured on Aqua Velvet {thanks amy!}
*It has been Valentines day and I made this card for my valentine.
*I have finished my Alice in Wonderland Dust Jackets for my book cover project at University, which you can see here and made some papercut bookmarks to accompany them here.
*I have updated my etsy shop with the bookmarks for sale.
*My dust jackets and bookmarks featured in an interview I did with DigitalArts magazine website here.
*And added these photos as favourites on flickr - 1. 2. 3.

Phew! This kind of post might not look like much but it takes a lot of organisation to get all this together. Next time I will make it look good too, but for now here is my favourite illustration by Natsuki.

{weekly update}

This is the first in a series of four posts I will do as a trial run through February. I will be posting some inspirational photos, links, some of my own photos, blogs that are new to me and using this post as a way to remember all the bookmarks I make on my computer in a more useful way, instead of them just remaining bookmarks!

[all images can be clicked to take you to their source and are all property of the photographers, designers, bloggers etc]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The first thing I will mention is a blog that I found recently and have totally fallen for - youcanmakeiteasy. This blog is created by Aron L. and in his own words is:

"A blog to share wonderful pictures, beautiful music, amazing people, inspiring art, moving words, and worthy thoughts that help to make my life seem so much easier."

The photos are amazing and have such great qualities, such as the lighting, colours and feeling.

A blog I found through the blog mentioned above is tokyoconnection.blogspot.com which has more great photographs!

and a final blog that has also caught my eye is the blue hour that is by Brian Ferry. Great photography, a good read and some great links posted.

I also bought myself a new print (the image below)- The Sleepyheads Crowd Print, from here, by Christopher David Ryan, it just needs to be framed and hung.

.......and finally, (those who follow me on twitter will already know this) My dissertation is finally finished, printed and ready to be bound and handed in! I'm so relieved that it's all finally finished!
