{the bedlam of beefy}

My custom silhouettes and spirograph papercuts are featured on the great blog the bedlam of beefy. This blog is so stylish and always has something interesting to read, so head on over to have a little read!

{weekly update}

This is the first in a series of four posts I will do as a trial run through February. I will be posting some inspirational photos, links, some of my own photos, blogs that are new to me and using this post as a way to remember all the bookmarks I make on my computer in a more useful way, instead of them just remaining bookmarks!

[all images can be clicked to take you to their source and are all property of the photographers, designers, bloggers etc]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The first thing I will mention is a blog that I found recently and have totally fallen for - youcanmakeiteasy. This blog is created by Aron L. and in his own words is:

"A blog to share wonderful pictures, beautiful music, amazing people, inspiring art, moving words, and worthy thoughts that help to make my life seem so much easier."

The photos are amazing and have such great qualities, such as the lighting, colours and feeling.

A blog I found through the blog mentioned above is tokyoconnection.blogspot.com which has more great photographs!

and a final blog that has also caught my eye is the blue hour that is by Brian Ferry. Great photography, a good read and some great links posted.

I also bought myself a new print (the image below)- The Sleepyheads Crowd Print, from here, by Christopher David Ryan, it just needs to be framed and hung.

.......and finally, (those who follow me on twitter will already know this) My dissertation is finally finished, printed and ready to be bound and handed in! I'm so relieved that it's all finally finished!

{new features}

next week I am introducing two new features for the blog.......a monday morning and The weekly Update.

The monday morning feature will be just an inspiring image (which will probably be food related) or a simple post, while the weekly update will consist of - what I've been creating through the week, some interesting things I've found, such as blogs that are new to me, any flickr favourites, any great new shops or designers/artists that I have come across, and anything else exciting that has happened through the week or things that will be coming up in the near future. I will still have my WIP Wednesday and weekend goodness posts but I feel like I want to share some of the great stuff I come across while researching for university or just looking through things on the internet!

{featured fairytales and xmas cards}

My fairytale papercut postcards have been featured on a great blog all about......fairytales!
Once upon a Blog has kindly featured my series of postcards from 'The Black Forest' here.
They include a Hansel & Gretel postcard, a Sleeping Beauty postcard and a Little Red Riding Hood postcard. They are available as a set or individually and are my original hand cut papercuts printed onto a postcard. Also she has mentioned my lampshade designs that i have been playing around with, and I have been told by so many of you that i should be creating these for sale....at the moment i am in the process of playing with ideas and methods of production so you will have to wait and see what happens.

Also i have recently listed some hand cut Christmas card sets that feature a white deer design and white snowflakes on white card with a deep red thread accent on the side. I have made a limited number of these and once these are gone i will not be making more of the same design so get them while you still can!

{etsy update}

I managed to snag myself my very first treasury!
I used the poster sketch tool before hand and had a little dry run, i also used tips and advice from owlonthesill. She has a great little guide on how to create your treasury and this is what i used to help me get mine! I based it on triangular patterns/illustrations and im quite pleased with the outcome. {new layout and blog overhaul}

I have really wanted to give my blog a new look as when I first started it I picked a simple template and just got going. After blogging for over two years for university and having blogged for mrYen a few months, I have read many blogs and seen so many interesting layouts, designs and templates that I feel I really do need something that suits my style more and something that i feel comfortable with to show my images and text in a way that i feel proud of. I would also love anybody reading this to comment more (I need to do the same on the blogs that I read) as I would like this blog to be more of a two way communication. I originally intended this blog to be a place where I record my creations and promote my shop, but I feel as though I need/want more of my personality and personal life here. I will be putting these changes into effect and will also only be having a {Feature Friday} twice a month instead of weekly. On another note, while changing my blog layout and having my blog down for maintenance last night i lost a blog follower and ten twitter followers! On the up side....... my Alice in Wonderland PaperCut Quote was featured on Etsy's front page!

{Free to all my followers!}

i just thought i would say thanks to all the people following me, by giving away a little illustration. this blog is fairly new and i hope you all read and not just subscribe!
by clicking on the zebra finch below it will take you to my flickr, where you can download him for free, as a jpeg, for a limited time only, so rush on over to get yours!
