{WIP Wednesday}

This week I have been finishing up the wholesale order I received last week and I now have a proud war wound on my index finger... It's only a small lump, but it aches and stings so much I am going to have to give papercutting a rest for today!

In other news the mrYen decorative Christmas tape has arrived and is now for sale in my etsy shop! & I will be creating a blog post next week showing the many ways that the tape can be used, other than wrapping packages!

{WIP Wednesday}

This weeks WIP has been finishing up some cutting & binding of some notebooks & sketchbooks, which have now been added to the shop. I have already sold a sketchbook!

Hope you are all having a productive week!

{Feature Friday}

This weeks Feature Friday is Pawling | print studio. Fist things first, the photographs of their products are amazing. They have such a simple aspect to them which helps focus in on the details of the product and shows the designs at their best. I love the focus on materials and simplicity of design. I think the set of 8 notebooks below are a great example of this. They are professionally printed with eco-friendly soy based inks onto a chipboard cover, which features a hand drawn geometric illustration and for $28 for 8 notebooks, you have a bargain!

The fabric goods printed by Pawling | print studio are also great and you can get yourself a hand sewn tea towel or a cushion cover with a screenprinted geometric design. [all images can be clicked to take you to the Pawling | print studio on Etsy]

{WIP Wednesday}

This week I have been working on getting a set of geometric greeting cards together, (alongside University work) to use my spirograph papercuts in a more useful and practical way. These will be available in the shop before the weekend and will be in packs of three, with three styles available - a pop out version, a folded square version and a tall thin version and available in three styles - the style below, a snowflake design and a lace design.Keep an eye out to get yours !

I have also created a new purely typographic design that you can find in my shop now, with WIP shots below too!

{weekend goodness}

...is having the time to work on creating a set of geometric greeting cards for the shop .........and having freshly ground coffee with some chocolate.

{a sneaky peak at an upcoming project - WIP}

i have wanted to create a set of illustrations based on geometric shapes for a while and have recently been experimenting with triangles and triangles within circles. I will be using my experimental illustrations and printing them onto vintage book pages, like the pages i used here for my paper cut designs. I created these as something to put in my living room and decided i would share them as i liked them so much! coming soon to my etsy shop!

{Feature Friday}

This weeks feature Friday will be...... gavinmiller...a local person to me! When deciding on a Feature Friday, my first port of call is my favourites on etsy and the following photographer has been on my favourites for quite a while and hasn't had any sales, so why not give some free exposure to fellow, local artists!

I have chosen Gavin Miller Photography as this weeks feature as i think his photographs use light to really create and evoke a mood in each of his photographs. i think a photography is all about light and it can make or break a picture. if a photograph is dark or blurry (unintentionally) then it shows a lack of skill and really doesn't do the subject any justice. Gavin Miller Photography uses his subjects to add to the mood of the shot, working with the light and creating ethereal images that evoke something. Below are a few of my favourites (each image can be clicked to take you directly to the listing in his etsy shop)
