{Secret Project Reveal!}

So...On Wednesday I posted a WIP image here of something I was secretly working on and now I can reveal... *drum roll please*

I was creating 40 limited edition Valentines papercuts for Lynx (the mens deodorant/fragrance company - aka Axe in Europe ) to give away to some lucky winners! You can find out more here on the Lynx blog. Oh and while your there why not have a look at the new advert! Even Angels will Fall.

Below you can see some imagery I used to generate ideas (the feather images) and the final papercut has pop up wings with papercut text. I wanted the imagery to relate to the advert - hence the feathers, but then decided to group the feathers as wings! This was the first time I really incorporated pop up into one of my papercuts and I think it has a great efffect! Plus I think the feather images would make a nice set of postcards. What do you think?

Final Limited edition Valentines Papercut

{WIP Wednesday}

Well...this week I have been quite busy trying to get some stock built up for the shop. I have listed a few papercuts, Instant collections (of both notebooks and a few products grouped together) and a small envelope of 14 papercut feathers that would be great to use in collages or to make a small paper mobile!

I have also taken some better pictures of my first Alphabet card that will be listed as soon as I have finished designing the whole range!

I also thought I should also let you know that the last dates for postage of mrYen Valentines goodies is as follows:

UK
Wednesday 9th by First class Royal Mail (at a push Friday 11th if you want to risk it!)

USA/Elsewhere
Friday 28th by Royal Mail airmail (at a push Monday 31st if you want to risk it!)

{weekend goodness} A quick update...

First things first....I have been so busy this week, having some new commissions come in, some interviews and magazine based opportunities and general business upkeep. For the majority of my evenings this week I have been cutting 100 promotional papercuts, that you can see below, for The Made in the Shade Summertime Hop goodie bags, which you can get your hands in if you are one of the first 100 lucky ones at the event! More information here.

I have also finally finished a small papercut contribution for The Foxtrot Collective, which is a small, limited edition magazine aimed at showcasing the work of young designers over a variety of media. (More information here) A small section of what I created is below and I will show the full image once the magazine is released.

Hope you are all having a good weekend, see you on Monday!

{WIP Wednesday}

Today's work in progress is cutting more of these promotional papercuts for my VIP night at my University exhibition tomorrow. I have cut 30 of these so far, each varying slightly - with only a few multiples of similar designs and I have another 20 to cut before tomorrow.

On another note....I will be collecting my final results for my degree today at 3pm and I'm feeling quite nervous/anxious/excited! I will update tomorrow with my results.
